‘Alien Graveyard’

Although these images are the same as in my “Graveyard” blog post, I have edited the hue and increased the saturation to create this otherworldly or ‘alien’ effect. I feel this makes the images more interesting, as they seem even more eerie and uncomfortable. This is because these psychedelic colours are not usually seen in this sort of setting, so they create a sense of unfamiliarity and unease. This relates to Freud’s Gothic idea of the ‘uncanny’, which is when everyday objects or settings are altered to make them seem unfamiliar and threatening.
