Fast Shutter Speed

This photograph, which I have solarized and edited the hue of, is an example of fast shutter speed; although the cars were moving fast, I was able to freeze this movement and create a sharp image.

Slow Shutter Speed

1/10 sec; f/5.6; ISO 100

Alternatively, when taking this image, I used a slow shutter speed. This blurred the movement in the head, while keeping the rest of the shot in focus. This creates a fairly dramatic effect, as the blurred face creates a sense of confusion and being overwhelmed.
